Communication skills is a crucial ability for personal development and a very important competence underscored during job entry interviews after college. In the statistical treatment of the data, the mean, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and CHI-Square were applied. Three types of researcher-made survey questionnaires were employed as data gathering instruments to assess the level of verbal, nonverbal and written communication capabilities of the students. The communication proficiency of accountancy students when taken as a whole is high. No significant difference in the capability of the respondents when grouped according to sex but the results of the study shows otherwise if classified according to year level. Communication proficiency as complemented by the use of common Microsoft Office Applications like Word, Excel and Powerpoint, the respondents are knowledgeable and information communication technology usage increases communication proficiency. It is recommended that advanced courses in accounting system applications will be introduced in the curriculum to meet the demands of the global industries. The institution should formulate academic policies that require students to develop effective communication skills and become highly employable through courses offered in the curriculum aligned to outcomes based education.
