Reconciliation is a sacrament of healing involving repentance for sins, which are thoughts or actions that displease God. There are two types of sins - venial and mortal - and four steps to reconciliation: confession of sins to a priest, conversion through promising to change, receiving forgiveness from God through the priest, and doing penance such as prayers or acts. The purpose of reconciliation is to help people love and commit to God by not hurting others and respecting God and people.

There are 2 types of sin venial and mortal sin
although mortal is more powerful they are both still sins.
There are 4 steps of reconciliation
Confession-telling our sins to the priest Conversion-we promise to e good and to change Forgiveness-through the priest god pardons our sins Penance-we say some prayers or actions
In this sacrament we examine our conscience,
go to confession, we recite the act of contribution and receive the absolution of sins and do penance.
The purpose of reconciliation is to help us love
god deeply and commit ourselves deeply to him, we can make god happy by not hurting others and respecting God and others.
In the olden day you would need to say your sins
in front of everyone, but as time went by they made reconciliation private.
