My personal insights into the

week

1. The berthing and un berthing

operation is very risky. Tug boats
master has to coordinate carefully
with each other and vessel also.
And also has to take care of the
angle and has to show too much
control and patience.
2. I observed one issue in this week
because of tide drought is less
compare than normal drought
therefore JNPT cant unberth the
vessel at given time they has to
wait for another tide to get increase
in drought.
3. Because of this another vessel
which having scheduled of berthing
got delay.
4. And also because of congestion and
busyness of the terminal vessel got
delay in berthing and unberthing.
5. Congestion also can be lead to
accident.
Because
of
this
miscommunication and lack of
coordination
will
takes
place
between
the
RMQC
operator,
lashing dept. and truck driver etc.
6. For handling the heavy weight
containers RMQC will take more
time than normal because twin
movement will not be used for this.
Each container they to load or
unload one by one. This will lead to
delay in handling.
7. In JNPCT the utilization of RMQC in
Average 80%. (Shift 1, 2, 3).
8. While making entry of the position
of container in RDT the checker has

to recheck the entry because if any

mistakes happen that will cause
problem to other port while
handling.
9. Visited shallow berth terminal also.
