My music video will be combined of

both performance and narrative

shots. It will begin with a low angle
shot of the sun glaring at the
camera. This immediately sets the
summery, upbeat atmosphere the
target audience would expect to feel
within a conventional house music
video.
The second shot will we a close up
panning shot of the protagonist
putting on headphones as this would
evoke excitement from the target
audience anticipating the opening
line of the song.
The narrative will continue with a
medium shot of the female
protagonist throwing pebbles into
the sea as it signifies freedom and
optimism.

It will then jump cut into a long shot

of the protagonist running through a
forest, the juxtaposition between the
two locations conforms to Frederick
Jamesons theory that music videos
are random without any meaning.

We will then include a shot of the

protagonist driving along on a hot
summers day, further emphasising
the fun lifestyle of the music artist
which would appeal to the young
demographic of target audience. It
also conforms to the dominant
ideology that all music videos
portray the star as rich.
The second performance shot will be
played when the beat drops and the
chorus begins. This will help
emphasise the lyrics and the close
up shot would help0 the target
audience feel they are making eye
contact with the protagonist,
conforming to the uses and
gratifications theory of personal
relationships.

A jump close up shot will be used to

depict a male hand adjusting levels
on a DJ deck, this therefore will
evoke happiness from the target
audience as this is a typical
connotation of a club or dance
setting. This also conforms to the
typical codes and conventions of a
house music video.
There will also be a handheld shot
which denotes a first-hand
experience of a music festival, which
is in sync with the lyrics as the artist
is singing them. This reinforces the
ideology of summer fun and
therefore will evoke excitement from
the target audience as it encourages
them to do the same.
Jump cuts of graffiti art from Camden
town will be used in order to encode
bright colours which reinforces the
dominant stereotype that house
music videos are associated with
bright colours.

A mid shot of Trafalgar Square with

the artist in the foreground will be
used which juxtaposes the calm of
the forest in previous shots to the
buzz of the city life within this shot,
this therefore could connote the
livelihood of the scene is symbolic of
the livelihood of a party.
A close up of eyes will also be used
as an overlay over another shot,
which connotes mystery as it is said
eyes are the window to the soul
and not much focus is put on the
artist herself throughout the entire
music video and this shot therefore
adds to this enigma which will entice
the audience to carry on watching
the video.
The video will conclude with a long
shot of the artist running into the
sunset with a fade to black at the
end this signifies the day is over,
further the song is over and even
connoting the fun is over. This may

evoke sadness from the audience as

they want the video to continue but
will provide a buzz for the release of
the artists next music video as they
anticipate it.
