FOCUS GROUP EVIDENCE

FEEDBACK AND WHAT NEXT?

During the focus group I received feedback which told me that my narrative was very unclear
and random, this was my attempt of Goodwins theory that music videos are random without
meaning. Learning from this I am now going to put in some performance shots to break up
the shots so that they do not look so sloppy and I can effectively use Goodwins theory. Also,
as my production is unfinished at the time of screening some of the feedback was that I need
to effectively place shots and structure the video so it is the strongest it can be. They were
impressed by the equal distribution of the different locations, meaning no one location
dominated the video more than another. They also complimented the artistic techniques such
as flashes and overlays but said there was room for more ideas to be incorporated, therefore I
am going to have a discussion with my partner and complete a mind map of everything we
could potentially do and use trial and error to see which techniques would look most effective.
