TEAM PLAYER - I was an effective team member, by completing a lot of the
worksheets needed for planning while the rest of my group
finished the turn table practice videos etc. so we kept in a
good time management to make sure we had enough filming
time to get we wanted done, but when there were parts of the
sheets, I needed everyone I waited and made sure we did it
all together.
- I also helped my group by buying a batch of fake plastic ice
which could be used in our glass to look like ice so when we
were filming it was easier than having real ice that would just
melt.
- I also provided our group with the glass cup for the drink and
bought a glass coke bottle to use withing filming.
PROBLEM SOLVING One problem which I had to solve, was when we first used the turn
table to record shots, two of the team members didn’t press record on
the camera for 20 minutes of the footage which was going to very vital
in my overall edit, so to solve this problem as we didn’t have time or
the props to re film it, I used other pieces of footage and merged them
together to try create the effect of what was meant to be recorded,
however it wasn’t exactly the same. To prevent this from happening
again next time I will double check they pressed record and take more
than one large recording of the shot so I know that at least one shot
will be able to be used.
OWNERSHIP I acted independently when we were using the turn table, for the
second time when the rest of my group didn’t have ideas for what
shots to shoot, by using my research knowledge from what other
adverts do and filmed some shots similar to what I knew would look
appealing to the audience watching, this ended up being resourceful
for the whole group as we all used different parts of these shots, and
my ideas for the shots had a variety of different ones so we could pick
and choose which ones we wanted to use or not, doing a few so our
adverts don’t all look exactly the same.
LEARN AND IMPROVE One thing I have improved on, is my editing skills to how they smoothly
go into one another rather than being very blocked and not flow, I did
this by taking more time in blending the shots together, weather this
was by adding a fade effect or layering the shot over it and adding text.
However, one thing I could improve on is when editing my can or bottle
on the turn table to make it spin faster, I could try do it more so it looks
like it’s spinning more than two times to slow down, adding more
contrast to it and then it would effective but also clean.
MEET DEADLINES In meeting the post-production deadline, I got it done very quick, in
able to have more time on taking the actual shots so I knew I had more
time to take a variety of shots even if I didn’t end up using them but so
my group as a while had options, I did this by doing some of the post-
production work at home so when I was in college, I could use the
cameras etc more.
With the production deadlines. My group met the deadlines we set for
ourselves, but along the way changed two of the take footage option
over with one another to fit better with the weather on the day, still
completing all recording we wanted on time, but we made it fit better
with what happened on that day.
In the post-production side, I met the deadlines, with completing the
finished product of my advert being fully edited and adding it to my
Weebly first, with additional time to start my evaluation sheet early, so
once I completed everything, I had additional time to go back and re-
read my work to make sure it was to a good quality level.
You can complete the work on this document, but ensure that you upload this
to your Professional Practice page on Weebly when completed.
