CHALLENGE: Something you know could be difficult before starting the project.
PROBLEM: Something unexpected that caused difficulties during the project.
It gave me valuable examples in how to do it.
Each gave me the pieces to make the website passable, such as things like
the layout of the site, and with the poster and the trailer it looks more
presentable.
Speaking of the trailer, my main point of inspiration was the original Blair
Witch trailer since that’s what we were creating a version of.
Like most people, google is the main thing to research with however
unlike most people I do look on page 2 and beyond so I would say my
determination is also useful in researching.
Having to explain my research while researching it. It can be distracting to
someone who wants to get started on creating the trailer.
While for some it’s nice to google and chat, but I would prefer to search
what I need to find, then put it on my site without so much extra text.
The average person doesn’t want to scroll down lines of text to get to the
important bits.
I know that some people would like to know how I did but if they want to
learn, there are better places than my Weebly pages.
PLANNING
I used critical thinking and mental instructions that were in my head when
making the website after looking at the examples.
As for the trailer I used the skills I learned over my years in college and my
time creating content on the internet.
Some key techniques I used in the trailer are, different shot types, quick
cut transitions along with audio effects, and the most important one is
patience.
Well just the whole process of creating the plan.
For me, creating one in my head is the most useful, followed by making
short notes.

I knew one challenge I would have to face is syncing the audio with the
video, especially as my group was told this before we began filming.
The main problem I faced was that the voiceover wouldn’t register on
premier pro, along with a few crashes that happened during editing.
To fix the problem I relied on those who can sort out the crashing. As for
the audio glitches, they sorted itself out.
Might have been related to the crashes.
I felt like I worked well with the topic I was given and turned in a pretty
good trailer. The voiceover was well done, but that could be because of
my ability to do many different voices.
If I had total creative freedom on the topic I did (which includes the
choice of topic) a decent number of things would be changed, one of
them being possibly improving the audio mixing, especially after the work
I did on my personal YouTube channel that I keep my college work for
consistency.
But sticking with what I did I probably try to get my group members to
contribute more in future.
Well from prior experiences I knew my patience would mildly tested when
working with individuals that may need a more direction than others, but
I’m too mad. The two of them are my friends.
Another thing would be the sunlight, it could seriously mess things up
with any outdoor shots.
The recording itself went off without any issues in fairness.
However, like what I said prior glitches and crashes happened which made
me take longer than maybe what I would have liked.
I relied on those who can sort out the crashing. As for the any places
where we filmed like the greenscreen room, my group relied on Paul to
let us in for filming and to provide certain props.
Well, the scene involving the evidence being examined, I was cool being
able to basically play more than one character in the trailer.
I defiantly would have encouraged Ryan Cave to contribute more. But I
can’t be too mad at him because that’s on me, plus he agreed that not
being able to film offsite was annoying.
If the college is worried about theft, they could add trackers onto the
cameras, along with students having to sign a form saying that they are
taking college equipment off site for a certain amount of time.

The only challenge I faced when creating the site was about was how I
word certain things on the site.
After a long break, you could say I did, well I did, but I did keep what I
wrote prior as I think you might at least would like to hear my honest
thoughts on certain things related to the work, I love these lessons, but it
has its moments of questioning sometimes.
Well, I believe the layout is well done, I mostly take inspiration from sites
of major news sites like the BBC and many others.
Defiantly want to finish all the work first before doing the website stuff.
As long as we keep notes and screengrabs, we should be ok.
One thing I would change about the layout is that maybe not have all the
page backgrounds be white, it’s rather bland in hindsight.
