This document outlines a student's work on a TV advert production project for a professional practice course. It includes sections for research, planning, teamwork, problem solving, independent work, lessons learned, and meeting deadlines. For research, the student looked at example scandal adverts and the company website. Planning included a script, storyboards, and location scouting. The student helped with lighting and ideas. They overcame differing ideas by getting input and potentially reshoots. The student independently edited the final project. They learned lighting techniques and could have improved time management. Deadlines were mostly met except for some written work.

RESEARCH IDENTIFY EXAMPLES OF WHAT RESEARCH WAS
UNDERTAKEN FOR YOUR TV ADVERT. INCLUDE BOTH PRIMARY AND SECONDARY RESEARCH EXAMPLES.
We looked at multiple different scandal adverts that
either promoted the product but also different ones in the company. We also looked at their company website to see the ‘vibe’ for the perfume. I also did primary research in the form of a survey.
PLANNING IDENTIFY EXAMPLES OF WHAT PLANNING WAS
UNDERTAKEN FOR YOUR TV ADVERT. THIS MIGHT INCLUDE SCRIPTS, STORYBOARDS, LOCATION RECCES ETC.
Throughout the planning we did: a vague script, story
boards and location recce. This helped with our final advert as we. Knew what we wanted to accomplish but also create more ideas off of it.
TEAM PLAYER IDENTIFY A PERSONAL EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU
WERE AN EFFECTIVE TEAM PLAYER ON THE TV ADVERT PRODUCTION.
Throughout the entire process I helped with
numerous of things such as lighting the smoke machine and the wind machine. Within pre- production I helped create ideas for the group and helped narrow them down into what we wanted to end up doing.
PROBLEM SOLVING IDENTIFY A PROBLEM WHICH YOU HAD TO SOLVE
REGARDING YOUR TV ADVERT. THIS MIGHT INCLUDE SOMETHING WHICH HAPPENED IN PRE- PRODUCTION, PRODUCTION OR POST- PRODUCTION. HOW DID YOU SOLVE THE PROBLEM?
Within the Tv advert, the problem we faced was that
everyone having a different idea on how we would execute the final project. We overcame this by listening to everyone’s ideas and see which one worked more but also (if there was time at the end) to shoot more scenes if anyone wanted them
OWNERSHIP IDENTIFY AN EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU ACTED
INDEPENDENTLY OR RESOURCEFULLY ON YOUR TV ADVERT PRODUCTION.
I acted independently on the final edit. While editing
my final edit I had to pick out what music went well, how to transition between shots and how the edit looked after all
LEARN AND IMPROVE IDENTIFY AT LEAST ONE THING YOU HAVE
LEARNED ON YOUR TV ADVERT PRODUCTION AND AT LEAST ONE THING YOU HAVE IMPROVED UPON. THIS MIGHT BE TECHNICAL, COMMUNICATIVE, ACADEMIC etc.
What I learned from this was to how to use different
lighting to accentuate the model or the product in a way to make it seem ‘irresistible’. The one thing we could’ve improved on was our time management as e had very little time left to go over shots, we could’ve wanted to re-do but also take shots of other things.
MEET DEADLINES HOW SUCCESSFUL WERE YOU IN MEETING
SPECIFIC DEADLINES FOR THE TV ADVERT PRODUCTION. THIS WILL INCLUDE DEADLINES SET FOR PRE-PRODUCTION, PRODUCTION AND POST- PRODUCTION.
Overall, I think my deadline for my final edit was
alright, the other thing with deadlines I didn’t meet was my written work which I have finally finished.
