Initial Ideas

The song I have chosen to do for my music video is Say You Do by Sigala. I
would like to have a completely random narrative to conform to Frederick
Jamesons theory that music videos are random without meaning as I think
this will reinforce the summer connotations of the song, e.g. with the African
drums.

The song Ive chosen has limited lyrics as is a typical house song, although the
lyrics Love me, love me like you say you do connote a love song which can be
closely linked with happiness, which is why Ive made the decision to base the
video about laughter, summer and happiness.

The song has quite heavy beats and I will therefore play on this within the
editing stage to encode certain techniques such as flashing images. This will
then connote a club atmosphere.

Assessment of changes

We decided to use more than one location within our music video as we felt it
would engage with the demographic more than a single location would. We also
decided that jump cuts would be more appropriate as it will frequently jump
between shots keeping the audience engaged and making it a more enjoyable
experience for them.
