Replacement of Basic Data

Purpose
This manual describes how to replace a basic data.

Scope
This manual limits to explain replacement of basic data - inspection characteristic and
inspection method. The same is applicable for replacing a work center and reference
operation set.

Overview
This transaction/facility will be more helpful to identify all the inspection plans/routings where
a particular basic data (say, insp. Char) is used and select the required plans/routings where
you want the replacement to be done from a single screen, that too automatically.
Whatever basic data you want to replace, enter the old data which has to be replaced and the
new data. You will also get the feed back (log) from the system which says whether the
replacement is successful or not.

Usage Overview

In this screen you can view the inspection plan/routing in which this characteristic is used. It also displays the
sampling procedure and dynamic modification rule used in those plans/routings.
Choose the plans/routings in which you want the replacement and press Start.

Retain, Supplement or Change data

Press Enter.
Now the system is replacing the old version in the selected plans/routings.
Then you get the Log screen as shown below:

Press back.
Now you have replaced an inspection characteristic with a new one along with an inspection method.
Now we will see, how to replace an inspection method.

Now you return back to the initial screen. Repeat the same for the field New Method also.
Now your initial screen looks like:

Back to Initial screen.

Press Enter.

Select the plans in which you want to replace and press Start.
Now the system does the replacement in the background and displays the Log screen as shown:

Press Back.
Now you have replaced an inspection method with a new one.
Note:
The procedure to replace other basic data like work center (CA85) and reference operation set (CA95) is
same as explained above except that the initial screen will slightly vary.
