aircrewmembers,officers,andenlistedpersonnelareentitledtothebesteducation

POVUSE: Youshouldrelyasmuchaspossibleontheshuttlebusfortraveltothe
mainbase.TheroadtoFairchildisnarrowandhasseveralsharpcurvesonwhich
chancesforaccidentsaregreat. RamboandThorperoadsmaybeblockedduring
RealWorldorExerciseconditions. Nooneexceptsecurityforcespersonnelmay
openthebarricadedroads.
WALKING/JOGGING: Please use the sidewalks. Do not walk on the grassy or
rockcovered areas. Where sidewalks are not available, all walking and jogging
shouldbedonealongtheleftsideoftheroadway,facingtraffic,insinglefile.
Avoidwalking/joggingtwoormoreabreastontheroadways. Thisimpedestheflow
oftrafficandincreasesthelikelihoodofanaccident. Theuseofportableearphones
orothersimilardevicesisprohibitedwhilewalkingorjoggingalongthetraffic
environment.

inthisareaareroutinelycoveredwith"blackice." Thisisicewhichyoucannotsee
ontheroadandisextremelydangerousforyouandyourvehicle. Whenyoumust

MEDICALCARE: Duringfieldtrainingandresistancetraining,medicalcareis
providedbyIndependentDutyMedicalTechnicians(IDMTs)ona24hourbasis.
Callyourinstructortorequestmedicaltreatment.
MEDICATION: TheSurvivalSchoolFlightSurgeonmustprescribeorapproveall
prescriptionmedicationtakentothefield,exceptbirthcontrolpills.Thisincludes
medicationsprescribedbyanotherphysician.Youmaynottakenonprescription
drugs,evenaspirinorMotrin,tothefield. Youarenotauthorizedtotakeany
medicationintotheresistancetraininglab.
INJURIES: Ifyoususpect,foranyreason,youarepronetoinjury,youare
responsiblefortakingpreventiveactionbaseduponyourpersonalknowledgeof
yourphysicalconditionandyourpastexperience. Forexample,ifyouhaveahistory
ofapreviousinjury,suchassprainedankleordislocatedshoulder,youare
responsibleforbringingthistotheattentionoftheFlightSurgeon.
FATIGUE: Itisstronglysuspectedmostseriousstudentinjuriesaretheresultof
attemptingroutinetaskswhilefatigued. Avoidoverextendingyourself,particularlyin
thepursuitofoffdutyrecreation.Evenroutinetasksbecomecomplicatedunderthe
influenceoffatigueandhavecausedaccidents.
4.INFORMATIONFORFEMALESTUDENTS:
Dependingupontheindividual,stressbroughtaboutbythecoursemaydisruptyour
menstrualcycle. Youwillcarryyourownsanitarysuppliesduringthefieldand
resistancetrainingphases. Sanitarysuppliesarenotusedtosmugglecontraband
(e.g.,food,medications,weapons,etc...)andwillbesearchedduringtheRTL
phase.

CASUALSTUDENTS: Allstudents,regardlessofrank,incasualstatus,inanon

0745(MondaythroughFriday),exceptholidaysIAWCommanderspolicy.

HAIRCUTS: TheGroupCommanderrequiresstrictadherencetoAFI362903
standards. Allstudentswillmeetthosestandardsorthe336TRSS/CCwillremove

AFI362903standardsandmakeappropriaterecommendationstothecommander.
PHYSICALFITNESSSTANDARDS: StudentswillcomplywithAirForcephysical
andweightstandardsinaccordancewithAFI10248. Studentsmustbringacopyof
theirPTscoretoinprocessthecourse Schoolpersonnelwillensurestudents
enrolledinSV80AarewithinestablishedAirForcefitnessstandardsandwill
evaluateanystudentwhosemilitaryimageisquestionable. YOUMUSTBEIN
GOODSHAPEBEFOREYOUCOMETOSURVIVAL. Thetrainingisphysically
rigorous,includinglongdaysofwalkingseveralmilesoverroughterraininall
weatherconditionswhilecarryinga50poundpack. Studentsnotmeetingstandards
willberemovedthroughStudentAdminandsentbacktotheirrespectiveunit.
TOBACCOPOLICY: Smokingorchewingtobaccoisnotauthorizedduringany
phaseoftrainingwheninstructionisactivelyoccurring.
UNIFORM: Uniformforallclassesisbattledressuniform(BDU)orflightsuit.
StudentsarerequiredtowearstandardIAWAFI362903uniformcombinationsatall
times(e.g.flightjacketsandflightcapwithflightsuitsandfield/BDUjacketsand
