HS2000 High Volume / High Speed Centrifuge

Introduction
The HS2000 Centrifuge has been developed to give better
performance in two important ways
1. A number of innovative design features were developed that
allow production of the machine at a lower cost while still
maintaining the high volume, high capacity performance.
2. The power requirements are less, resulting in more economic
operation and greater flexibility in installation locations. The
main drive is 75HP and the back drive is 30HP, resulting in
105HP total. It can be run on a 100 amp service connection if
necessary.
The HS2000 was developed with many of the innovative features
of the 2172 resulting in a high speed/high volume centrifuge with
similar capacity as the 2172.
Description

18 x 60 bowl somewhat smaller than the 2172 but still

much larger than the next group of centrifuges below it it size.
Patented feed accelerator instantly accelerates incoming
fluid to bowl speed, as in the case of the 2172

High Torque, single stage, Cyclogear gearbox (50,000 in/lb

torque). Highly reliable gearbox that is simpler and more
economical to operate and maintain than other types of
gearboxes.
Toggle switch allowing either < 100 amp service or > 100 amp
service, depending of type of service available on the rig.
Low cost VFD, normally non-explosion proof, but available in
optional Class 1, Division 1 enclosure.
Patent pending

o Four x longitudinal passageways to distribute flow over

wide are to
minimize turbulence

o Unique one piece skid design and fabrication allows

lower cost to manufacture, and simpler and more
economical operation.

Test Data the following tests were carried out at Brandt

Southwest centrifuge in Houston, Texas. Please note, that at
comprable G force values the HS2000 outperformed the 5500
Centrifuge (offered by Brandts competitors in Trinidad).
Higher feed rates were given to the HS2000. The liquid
effluent was lower density than the 5500, the D50 was lower
in the effluent (indicating better cut point), and the solids
discharge was higher density.

Benefits

This centrifuge is able to work on rigs or areas where 200 amp

service is not available
Provides the same level of high volume processing to BPTT as
the 2172 centrifuge, at a lower cost and lower power
requirements.
High capacity solids removal combined with low cut point results
in superior solids removal efficiency and all the economic benefits
associated with that
Results in reduced environmental impact due to less mud dilution
requirements
Cost Savings Estimate
o We expect see savings in mud dilution costs similar to
those that have been documented by Baroid PFM in
Trinidad with the 2172 Centrifuge. This should be in the
range of $3 to $4 per foot mud dilution savings
o Rental rates will be 20% to 25% less than the 2172.
