Diversity of Life Photo Project

There is more to the diversity of life besides just animals. For this project, you need to go out
and find representatives of each of the organisms listed below. Take a picture of the organism
and then paste that picture into the powerpoint template with the appropriate tag. You will then
turn in the powerpoint on blackboard. Each photo must be a selfie - a photo of the
organism that also has you in it (it can be someone else taking the photo as well, the main
thin is it has you in it). The organisms do not have to be alive, though (so a picture of a
mushroom from the supermarket would be fine). Each picture can only be used once, i.e. you
couldnt take a selfie and have that picture be both your representative of a eukaryote and a
mammal. All photos must be taken by you - you cannot surf the internet for pictures.
Some hints - if you arent near a large area of outdoor space, the grocery store and pet stores are
great places to get examples of some of the more obscure organisms. If you go to the zoo or the
Shedd Aquarium, youll find almost everything youll need there and have a great day! Just
make sure you get the actual organism (a picture of a can of pickled oysters or a diced mushroom
on a pizza is not acceptable). Also, try get the whole organism if possible.
You CANNOT use specimens from the lab. Go out and find these yourself!
Find organisms with the following labels:

Fungi
Plantae: Flowering Plant
Plantae: Non-flowering Plant (moss, fern, confier, Ginko, etc.)

Animalia: Mollusk
Animalia: Arthropoda: Insecta
Animalia: Arthropoda: Crustacean
Animalia: Chordata
Animalia: Osteichthyes (Bony Fish)
Animalia: Aves
Animalia: Mammalia
