InTASC Standards Rationale Page

Standard #6: Assessment

The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own
growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teachers and learners decision making.

Name of Artifact: Health Lesson Plan

Date: November 2016
Course: EDUC 240: Physical and Health Education for Elementary Teachers
Brief Description:
We made a slide show where we are going to show how good and bad eating choices
affect our health. Then we will pass out supplies and on a piece of paper they will write about
good and bad food choices and compare with their neighbors to see if they made right choices.
Rationale:
To document my understanding of Instructional Strategies, I have selected to include my
Health Lesson Plan. Teachers need to understand how to prepare learners for assessments and
how to make accommodations in assessments and testing conditions. The teacher must seek
appropriate ways to employ technology to support assessment practice both to engage learners
more fully and to assess and address learner needs.
