Solarplazas 19th international trade mission
brought together an international delegation
of over 35 leading international players in the
global PV market to explore business development opportunities in South East Asia and
meet with over 100 regional decision makers
during the regional conference The Solar Future Southeast Asia, that took place in Bangkok in the last two days of the Trade Mission.
The program, which took place over a span of
5 days in both Vietnam and Thailand, provided participants with an in-depth exploration
of the opportunities for PV in the booming
ASEAN economies. The event connected investors, project developers, finance institutions, policy makers and leading experts to
explore potential business partnerships. As
the first solar trade mission in Vietnam, taking place during the drafting of the countrys

first PV focused decree, international delegates engaged in mutually beneficial discussions with a range of key local stakeholders
on topics ranging from regulatory and legal
considerations, investment and financing
challenges and opportunities, best practices
and strategies to ensure bankability of PV
projects.
The event concluded with a 2-day conference
in South East Asias regional hub, Bangkok, in
which leading decision makers from around
the region participated including Indonesia,
the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam
and Malaysia. There are a variety of shortterm and long-term opportunities emerging
in each of these markets and the participants
were confident about the prospects for PV in
the region in 2016 and beyond.
