Observation: The child was very quiet in the beginning and shy a little bit. When he would
go and see what Marion had in her hand, he was the first one up there to see what she had.
He was curious about how soft things were outside. He was trying to make connections in
his head by talking to his friends that he was holding hands with at that time. The child
was very curious about why the bugs were biting him all over. When we were on the bank of
the river. He almost stepped in mud, but he figured it out by walking around it.

Interpretation of this observation: I think it was hard to write and interact with the
child because he was all over with his friends. There was a lot going to get everything
written down of what I saw. I also thought it was funny watching his hold his friends hand
while they walked on the trail with each other. It was easier to remember some of the
observations that I wrote down, it is hard to describe them.

Stage of Development: Cognitive Development

Learning Opportunity: We went to the Basswood Park outside of town. We met Marion
from the Palo Alto County Conservationist. She told us that we were going to walk the trail
to the river and try to find other areas to such as the prairie grass area too. Then we
handed a Wildlife Bingo where the children had to find the picture of it within the trail.
The children arrived around 1:45 and went around a table to hear what Marion was going to
do while we were on the trail. She had brought a jar full water with to crawfish in it.

Future Goals: Making sure they would be more organized by making the game a little more
open-ended. They would have the opportunity to get the pictures more realistic on the
bingo. I would have more types of animals in the bingo with their habitat in it too. So the
children could spot where could or maybe at on the trail.
