Career Exploration- Psychologist

Psychologist are the studiers of the cognitive, mental, and social process and human
behavior. They do this by interpreting, observing, and recording how people relate to one
another and environment. Psychologist can work independently, conducting research, or with
patients. Psychologist can work in a lot of different places in a healthcare team, social worker,
or in a school setting as a counselor. Counselors work with students, teachers, parents and
other educators to make a better environment.
To be a Psychologist the minimum amount of schooling you can have is a master for
some positions. Although, most Psychologist positions need you to have a doctorates or
specialist. You also need to be licensed and certified. In 2012 psychologist annual wage was
$69,280. Employment of psychologist is said to grow 12 percent from 2012 to 2022. Job
prospects are best for those with doctorates. Some benefits of being a psychologist are; Flexible
work schedule, potential to earn high salary, get the reward of knowing you are helping people,
and opportunity to own and operate your own business.
