liberation, freedom, and independence (maybe a touch of anarchy!). With a
partner, you will create a 2-3 minute speech to give in front of a camera
(film) that will inspire other students to seek freedom on a certain topic of
your choosing.
In a hypothetical time, you and your peers have been oppressed. You have
made it your mission to overcome the oppression. In your speech, you will
address this oppression, where it came from and what you propose to do
about it and how you will convince your peers to be on board and participate.
Your speech (film) must include:
-An introduction to your peers (your oppressed population) (intro)
-At least 4 allusions (history, literature, religious, classical, or contemporary
references)
**one MUST be literary (content)
A proposition for a movement and why!! (thesis)
A catch phrase for your movement (content)
An agenda or timeline for your movement (content)
Use of ethos, pathos, and logos and accompanying elements (technique)
Use of Personal narrative to describe you/your peers history of oppression
(style)
**You will spend time in class writing the speech. Practice speaking.
You will then film yourself with costume (consider image, color,
setting, sound quality, and lighting) giving your speech. Be
prepared to show a published , polished speech. Will be shown in
class.**
