Technology Enhanced Blended Learning Lesson Plan

Lesson Title: Practicing our Math-Magician Skills

Context: Based on students present this day, as well as background achievement

knowledge groups will be made up and split within the first 10 minutes of starting
Math.

Objectives: Students will demonstrate their fluency in multiplication and division

Students will solve multi-step problems while demonstrating their knowledge for
addition, subtraction, multiplication and, division.

State Standards: 3.ATO.8 Solve two-step real-world problems using addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division of whole numbers and having whole number answers. Represent
these problems using equations with a letter for the unknown quantity.

Materials: at least 5 sets of Number cards 1-10, Recording sheet for media task, Computers or
I-pad, Multiplication, division, addition and subtraction problem flash cards.

Procedures:

For this instruction, I will take

out the small number cards
and challenge my students.
Their direction will be; I will
give you 4 random cards from
the deck. Without making
more than one equation or
splitting the numbers up you
have to get the answer 4. You
can use addition, subtraction,
multiplication, or division. You
can use these all at together or
just use one or two of them,
whichever way you can get the
answer 4 and explain it to me.
We will aim to do this three
times, each time with a
different set of numbers.

For this instruction, Students

will be given a stack of
flashcards with
multiplication, subtraction,
division, and addition on
them. They are to quiz their
partners. They will be in
groups of 4. One person will
be the flash card controller.
The second will record the
right, and wrong problems.
The 3rd student will be the
students getting quizzed.
And the 4th student will be
making sure that the quizzer
tells the quizzed if he got it
right or wrong and what the
right answer should be. They
will all take turns being each
job.

For this instruction, student

will get either a computer or Ipad or laptop and go onto
math playground. Where they
will play an addition game, a
subtraction game, a
multiplication game, and a
division game. The students
will also have a sheet of paper
that they will have to write
down the game they played
and the score they received
on that game. The games
have options that interest
girls and boys as well as
keeping math the main
message. When creating a
username students will put
their first initial and student
number. Sheet attached
below.

Rationale: The website called math playground has many education skill building games that
are age targeted and help students to practice their math skills that they learn in class. Some of
them are timed and others are just purely to see how many they got right or wrong based on their
already acquired knowledge. All games help students, they target a specific operation and work
on skills that are taught and practiced in class. This is why students are allowed to pick the game
that they want rather than being directed to a specific game for each operation.
