DTE Energy Hiring Manager
Student Co-Op
1 Energy Plaza
Detroit, MI 48226
Dear DTE Energy Hiring Manager,
Please accept this letter and the accompanying resume as an expression of my interest in the
Engineering Technology Student Co-Op position with your organization.
As a third-year undergraduate student enrolled in the Pre-Electrical Engineering program at
Wayne State University, I have acquired an extensive knowledge of engineering principles,
practices, and equipment in my Basic Engineering courses. I am proficient in the use of various
applications and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, Visual Studio
and the 3D CAD design software SolidWorks. My experience as a team member of the Society
of Automotive Engineers has aided in the development of my oral communication skills as well
as my ability to collaborate well with others to contribute to a productive work environment. I
also learned to design specific car parts using SolidWorks and gained experience working with
machines such as a lathe, welder, and waterjet cutting machine. Working with delicate equipment
as such has trained me in being vigilant and consistently aware of potential safety hazards.
I am a highly motived and self-driven student and team member, eager to learn and gain
experience with diverse engineering disciplines. As an electrical engineering student, I am deeply
interested in electric utilities and the transmission and distribution of electricity. With DTE
holding the reputation for the largest electric utility in Michigan and one of the largest in the
nation, I see your vacancy as a unique opportunity to work in a reputable and high-class
engineering department. I am certain I would make significant contributions to your
organization.

I thank you in advance for your consideration of my application and look forward to your
response.

Sincerely,

Dalya Kabbani
