PERSONAL STATEMENT FOR KORAM EBENEZER

A fascination of science and technology and keen interest in the ever-growing world of technology
motivated me to take up engineering. I choose to major in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering with an
intense urge to delve into the challenging field. During my diploma and under graduate program I
learned the various fundamentals of Electrical and Electronic Engineering which together with
practical course work reinforce my interest. The program has one of the best learning facilities and
outstanding learning environment, which helps develop students’ academic and personal skills.
Moreover, the program has a unique learning approach that encourages students to become
independent and self-motivated learners.
I am drawn to the program because it will give me the opportunity to meet, experience, share, interact
with and learn from other colleagues from different backgrounds.
I am glad with the opportunity granted to me to apply to your program and I will provide my
background information in support of my application for entrance into master’s in Electrical
Engineering.
I am KORAM EBENEZER, a young man of 37 aimed at developing potent electrical policies,
phototype for consulting agencies, government, institutions and higher academic institutions. This
vision intrigued me so much that I pursued General Science during my Senior High School Education
(Akwamuman Senior High School) in Eastern Region, Ghana where I read Physics, Elective
Mathematics and Chemistry.
I attended Accra Polytechnic for my Higher National Diploma (HND) where I chose Electrical Power
System as my area of specialization and read courses like Engineering Mathematics, Electronic,
Network Analysis, Electrical Engineering laboratory, Computer Technology, Power System, Control
System, Digital Electronic, Equipment Maintenance, Fault Diagnosis, Electronic Servicing,
Entrepreneurship.
I further continue at University of Energy and Natural Resource-Sunyani Ghana for my undergraduate
degree studies and also read courses like Electric Circuit Design, Digital Logic Design, Electrical
Machines, Microprocessor, Digital Communication, Power Generation and Supply, Substation and
transmission line Design, Wireless data communication Networks, Power System Protection, Process
Control and Automation, Power Systems Planning and Optimization, Entrepreneurship development
and management.
Moreover, with this background and knowledge in Electrical Engineering, I am looking forward to
apply it to develop my potentials and competences in becoming a well- seasoned Electrical Engineer.
I have worked at KEC International Limited as a Safety Personnel, Network Industry and Service
(NETIS) as a field Technician, Tropo Farms Limited (Volta Catch) as an Electric Technician for
several years.
I currently teach Applied Electricity and Electrical Principle at Obuasi Senior High School in the
Ashanti Region of Ghana. This responsibility has enabled me to gain good communication and
teaching skills in diagnosing and solving problems.
I am aware of the implications of such a decision, the dedication, commitment and resilience required
to be successful. Your university offers amazing opportunities to it leaners towards achieving their
goals. It also exposes students to standard scientific research practices, expose students to different
cultures, quality education, working relations, new academic and social challenge.
