IUCC Warm-Up Reflection

5 things I did well:

I like how I asked IUCC to sh ow me where their inner thighs and pelvis were
because I was talking about them and wanted to make sure everyone
understood
I like how I know IUCC well enough to command the classroom and was
aware of students who were not paying attention and got them back on the
right track.

I like my professional attitude. '(~)
I like how I chose to bring in a challenging into ation exercise and adapted it
fr om the in-class warm-up to fit IUCC's environment. There was not a
projector so I had to print off slips of paper. Also I knew I had to break up
teaching the parts because they would not be successful sight-reading the
three-part harmony.
I like how I listened to the ensemble and adjusted my plan a little bit to
clarify and help them understand the concepts better.

I accidentally ascended by half steps on the first vocalize whereas my plan

During the breathing exercise I think I should have said at the endthat all of

these concepts together help singers breathe efficiently.

I hesitated during the beginning of teaching the intonation exercise and was
not clear on which voices were singing. I said part 1 was singing but I
wanted part 1 and 2 to sing together. ye(i.
I also hesitated a little bit when explaining the lip trill shui-ui-ui-ui-u
exercise. I should have been clear that I was to model the exercise and they
w ere going to imitate.
