CityGML XFM Application Template

Introduction
The CityGML XFM Application Template is designed to let Bentley Map users quickly get up and running with
Bentley Map to start creating Intelligent 3D objects (features) compliant to the OGC City GML standard.

Steps to deploy
1. Unzip the CityGML_v1.gsa.xml file anywhere on your machine.
2. Go into the start program menu and start the Bentley Geospatial Administrator application.

3. Open the XML file, using the open button on the application menu. You should see something like
this.

4. Click on the Geospatial Project node and change the Workspace Root Directory path to be the right
one for your installation.
TIP: To find out this path on your machine, create a new project and look on the Geospatial Project
node.

5. Expand the User Workspaces node and click on the CityGML workspace.
6. Correct the path again, but this time for the Base Source Dir field.

7. Click on the Save button at the top, and then on the Export button.
8. Put the focus on the CityGML workspace or right-click on it.
9. Then click on the Run button. This should start Bentley Map with the proper workspace.
NOTE: If you get a black screen with errors dismiss this window by clicking ESC and verify your entries
for the previous steps.
Then you should see something like this in Bentley Map.

10. You are now ready to start using Bentley Map to create CityGML compliant data.
You can get started by adding new features to your design file. To do so, double-click on one of the
Placement Methods in the Command Manager to the right of the screen.
