Quality Review

We need to give Quality Review officers context about:

o What we do on a day-to-day basis? (I.e. How we work in the classroom, how to
know your grade in the class, homework, etc.)
o Why we resemble the LaGuardia mission
These reviewers arent used to a school like ours and we need to give them a detailed
explanation of the quantity of arts class we take, our freedom to do things etc.
Quality review has no correlation with money or funding. However, this will be posted
for all schools to see. This will be our public image for the next 3-4 years.
Speak with enthusiasm and excitement regarding academics and culture
Speak on Dual-Degree Mission and its importance in the our school

Bulletin Board:

Ideas for 2nd Floor: Health Board, Things to do in NYC, Interactive Question Board,
Approved Post-It Board 2.0, Audition Calls, Mirror (Can get mirror for Art).
SGO board in the back of the 2nd floor. Headshots of all SGO members must be posted by
February 1st.
CENSUS: USE BOARDS TO PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL/EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FOR ALL STUDIOS

Spin Class:

The addition of a Spin Class would provide students an opportunity to receive a new
form of physical education.
There are problems hindering the organization of this project
o There is no space in the building for this equipment
o We would have to dismantle at least one half of the current weight room
o Would make it more difficult for student athletes to find free, accessable workout
time

Making How-To Videos for various topics (Student email, Naviance, studio life, etc.)
Giving contact information for all of the faculty and administrators
SoundLab Afterschool Recording Sessions (Online System through SGO page)
o Teachers who will facilitate sessions: Fogel and Apostle
o Adidas doesnt have the ownership rights to any recordings produced in the
studio. Communicate this to the entire student body.
CENSUS: APPROVED. CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL STUDIOS TO
USE EQUIPMENT.

Other Topics of Discussion:

New York Parks Association

o Does not respond to SGOs phone calls. We want to place solar panels onto our
school building as form of renewable energy. We will continue to make calls.
o We want free trees for our student garden, depending on NYPA calls.
New Water Fountain System
o We need to find model of fountain that allows students to refill water bottles
and drink at the same time. Will have positive effects on our environment
and school community.
Bathroom problems: Brought the wrong sinks and supplies (2nd FL)
o We are continuing our renovation process for the next couple of months
Little Flower Audience Seats
o THE BID WAS APPROVED RENOVATION PROCESS WILL
COMMENCE OVER THE FEBRUARY BREAK
