Industrial architecture is the design and construction of buildings serving industry.

Such buildings
rose in importance with the industrial revolution, and were some of the pioneering structures
of modern architecture

HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF AN INDUSTRIAL ARCHITECTURE

Industrial architecture has always had two main goals: efficiency and safety.
Improved economy in
turning raw goods into manufactured items and in the construction of the
buildings themselves, as well as
the prevention of fire with the resulting loss of life and materials shaped the
design of warehouses and
factories. The history of industrial architecture is beyond the scope of this
paper; however, a short review
will be given.
