1. Moldovans salaries continue to rise.

The average salary on economy was 5,204 lei in


November last year.According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the figure is up nearly 13
percent compared to November 2015.
The highest salaries were recorded in the IT and communications, about 10,500 lei, with ten percent
more than the same period of 2015.
In education, the average salaries were a bit more than 4,000 lei. The smallest salaries are
registered for those who provide accommodation and food services and those who provide leisure
activities.
In November, state employees had an average real salary of more than 4,400 lei, and economic
sector employees - over 5,500 lei.

2. January 18th marks eight years since the tragic death of poet Grigore Vieru.
A memorial service will be held at the grave of the poet in the Central Cemetery and will be
attended by friends and fans.
People could lay flowers at the bust of Grigore Vieru on the Alley of Classics. The poet was born in
February 14, 1935 in Pererata village.
Grigore Vieru holds the honorary Andersen diploma - the world's most prestigious award in
children's literature.
The great poet has died on 18 January 2009 at the age of 73, two days after a car accident.

3. A bus carrying schoolchildren has crashed and caught fire in northern Italy, killing at least
16 people, emergency officials say.

The bus, carrying pupils from Hungary, collided with a pylon as it exited the A4 motorway near
Verona late on Friday, informs BBC.
Italy's national fire service said on Twitter that another 39 people had been injured.
The bus was returning to Budapest from France, where the pupils had been on a mountain holiday.
Italian news agency Ansa said a number of the pupils, who were mainly boys aged between 14
and 18, were thrown out of the vehicle when it collided with the pylon.
It is not known why the bus left the road.
Others were trapped inside the bus when it caught fire, Ansa said. Ten of those in hospital are
seriously hurt, it said.
