Authentic Assessment Assignment
Lesson Plan 1: http://www.discoveryeducation.com/teachers/free-lesson-plans/the-noblegases.cfm
Authentic Assessment One: Students must create a baby book to demonstrate their knowledge
of the element chosen. This related to the content because it describes the characteristic of the
element and identifies what family the element is in. The lesson is attempting to teach students
about noble gasses and their properties, this assessment measures their knowledge of those
properties by having students record them in the book. This assignment goes further to have
students pull from their prior knowledge and not only explain how but why the elements acts a
certain way.
