Form Derivation based on Morphogenesis,

Cricket Stadium
In contemporary architecture, free forms are gaining popularity. They can be properly optimized
for structure, energy, etc. at the same time such forms are aesthetically pleasing. Building forms
play important role, an efficient form means the better environment inside. One look at nature
can tell us that forms in nature are unique & optimized with respect to the particular region.
Nature gives the solution which sustains. Having been inspired by nature this thesis, research
section focuses on deriving form finding techniques by investigating building/material systems
which are bounded by material properties such as bending, twisting, stiffness, etc. Investigated
systems therefore translated into physical models for having better analysis. Within this research,
procedure for building such models is also documented step by step in order to derive
methodology for particular system. To make models in digital space and getting them ready for
fabrication, several algorithmic definitions have been created in Grasshopper which is a visual
programming plug in for Rhino 3D modelling software.

Design section of thesis deals with cricket stadium where the focus is given to the implication of
carried research on an envelope of stadium. Design is expressed in terms of literature studies,
concepts, site analysis, plans, elevations, sections, details and views.
