Membership Report
Our Membership Committee urges members to invite
Key Women Educators into DKG membership.
Data: Current Chapter Profile Our chapter
recently had 10 members resign due to job obligations
and finances. We presently have 2 members with 40 -
42 years of membership, 2 with 30-39 years, 3 with 20-
29 years, 8 with 10-19 years, and 15 with nine or fewer
years of DKG membership. We have 21 members em-
ployed full-time in education, and 9 members semi- or
fully retired. As of date of this report, total member-
ship is 30, with 30 active status, 0 reserve status, and 3
honorary status.

11 members present at our February 8 chapter meeting.
DKG PURPOSES
Purposes
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has
seven basic purposes that govern its program of
work and study. The activities of each level of the
Society implement the purposes of the Society. The
seven purposes include:
To Unite women educators of the world in a
genuine spiritual fellowship
To Honor women who have given or who
have evidenced a potential for distinctive ser-
vice in any field of education
To Advance the professional interest and posi-
tion of women in education
To Initiate, Endorse and Support desirable
legislation other suitable endeavors in the inter-
ests of education and of women educators
To Endow scholarships to aid outstanding
women educators in pursuing graduate study
and to grant fellowships to non-member
women educators
To Stimulate the personal and professional
growth of members and to encourage their par-
ticipation in appropriate programs of action
To Inform the members of current economic,
social, political, and educational issues so that
they may participate effectively in a world so-
ciety

Presidents Message:
Greetings Once Again to My Alpha Epsilon Colleagues,
Spring has arrived and the busy time is upon us. It is time to update those To Do or
Reminder lists. Please review the following items in this newsletter and take action if you need to do
so. Time moves on. Soon the chapter will install a new slate of officers. Although my term of office
does not officially end until June 30, 2016, I want to use some of the remaining time now to say thank
you to those who have made the biennium of 2014-2016 a success.
The first and biggest thank you goes to Sandy Smith for conducting the February meeting and
the members that helped support this effort. Sandy Smith and the program committee have given us in-
formative, enjoyable, interesting, and varied programs. The programs have appealed to all levels of the
teaching spectrum. Sandy always arrived 30 minutes early to each monthly meeting in order to help the
social chairman and me set up the tables for the projects and the refreshments. Sandy completed the
Annie Award application and I made the poster for display at the state convention. Thank you, Sandy.
The next massive thanks goes to Eva Roman-Riley and the yearbook committee for the many
hours of work given to developing our yearbook. It was a staggering task with an excellent outcome,
receiving the Early Bird and Excellent Yearbook two years in a row. Thank you Eva for stepping
up to the plate and fulfilling the Membership Chair role also.
We look forward to one of these two ladies serving as the president for the 2016-2018 bien-
nium. The best to you!
To the ladies who have taken part as presenters in the monthly chapter programs, to
those who worked with the outreach program, and to the committee chairman and committee members,
thank you. Your support is most important to the success of a chapter. I appreciate you! You have been
supportive of the fundraising activities, the week of caring project, and the fun-filled style show. I dare
not try to list you by name, for as certain as I do, I will omit someone. Continued on page 2

A special thanks to my colleague at
school that helped me spend countless hours
developing the chapter website. We havent
managed to add it to the state site yet. Need
someone to maintain and fulfill this role for the
next biennium.
To those who take time and expense to
travel to out-of-town gatherings and the meet-
ings, I appreciate all. Your attendance at the
meetings and the extracurricular meetings is
what makes Alpha Epsilon a vibrant chapter.
Thank you, Alpha Epsilon Colleagues. The
bonus here was we had fun as we learned.
To my go to members, when I was in
doubt about what to do, goes one gigantic
thank you. If they did not know the answer to
the question at the time it is asked, just stand
by. The answer will be there as soon as they
have time to research it.
I hope that you have found our news-

I know we all look forward to working
with our new president and her executive
