In Reading. we are working on the Alphafriend, Iggy Iguana, final sounds & two new word wall
words weekly! We added a new skill of changing the initial sound to make a new word. For
example, change the /m/ in man to /p/ = pan.
In Math, we finished presenting our 100th day projects. We are working on story problems
with numbers to 10. We continue to do quick checks on skills weve learned to keep us
sharp (2D shapes, 3D shapes, numbers to 10, counting by 1s, 2s, 5s & 10s to 100) and colors.
We will add numbers 11 to 20, next week. We also continue Math vocabulary during calendar
like greater than, less than, more, and fewer and using place value for numbers like 10 is one
group of 10 and 0 leftover.
In your childs Friday Folder are their Writers Workshop stories. Please look over them and
discuss them with your child. I have noticed some good progress in setting up their pages and
then getting their sounds and words down to match the pictures. Good work!
Looking Ahead . . .
Wednesday, 3/8 we are having a special dayB and
PAW Winner: D day. B and D are letters (b and d) that are easily
Levi Jones reversed for kids, so this day will help reinforce
Student of the Week: which letter is which. More info to come.
