    This document examines the use of viscometry to monitor conformational changes in albumin exposed to different denaturants. Viscosity measurements were taken of native and denatured albumin solutions exposed to HCl, NaOH, urea, beta mercaptoethanol, SDS, and NaCl. SDS produced the highest increase in reduced viscosity from native to denatured albumin, indicating it was the most effective at inducing a conformational change. The ratios of reduced viscosities for denatured versus native albumin were also calculated and reported.
