Teenagers who were infected by ISR (Infeksi Saluran Reproduksi, Reproductive Tract
Infections) were 126 people. Teenagers with HIV and AIDS were 300 people. The
purpose of this study was to determine the influence of provision of information to
the understanding of adolescents about sex education in SMP (Junior High School)
Negeri 10 Batam, 2016. The study used pre test- post test one group design and
purposive sampling. The study was conducted in September 2015-March 2016 with
the number of respondents were 100 respondents. Data analysis used test analysis
techniques t-Tests. From the results the average score of understanding before
providing information about sex education was 19.59 and the average score of 22.05
after the provision of information. The T-test result obtained p-value 0.00 (p <0.05)
then there is a significant difference in average scores before and after the provision
of information. The Suggestion for related institutions is to take into account that it is
necessary to add the material into the subject curriculum and improve provision of
information which is good, precise and purposeful without being assisted by religious
