POLICY FOR YOUTH IN RECOVERY

Policy effective as of September 25, 2012

FORMAT

Tuesday:
Tuesday is a Rotating Topic Meeting from 7:00pm-8:30pm.
1st Tuesday: Rotating 1,2,3 step.
2nd Tuesday: JFT tag
3rd Tuesday: Random reading tag
4th Tuesday: Anniversary if last Tuesday, otherwise, open discussion
5th Tuesday: Anniversary if last Tuesday.
Readings at the beginning of the meeting are: Who is an addict? What is the
Narcotics Anonymous Program? Why are we here? How it Works, 12 Traditions,
Just for Today, The NA Identity Statement
Burning desire is immediately after speaker.
Key tag Commitment: When giving out White Welcome Key tag state, For just
the newcomer, just coming back, or here for the first time.
No feedback by speakers.

COMMITMENTS: All trusted servants must be clean off all drugs and drug
replacement therapy.

SIX (6) month commitments (voted on at Decembers and Junes business

meeting). Terms begin in January and July.
Individuals accepting commitments should review current policy.
It is important for trusted servants (those individuals holding commitments) to be
present at business meeting to be aware of any issues/changes that occur at the
group level and/or regarding church notifications.
TREASURER:
o Must have ONE (1) year clean time and have a verifiable source of
income.
o If treasurer is not present at the meeting, the chairperson is
responsible for collecting money.
o All monies collected by Treasurer and/or Chairperson must be recorded in
notebook/accounting ledger. All monies dispersed for supplies, cakes,
coffee, etc. must be indicated in ledger.
CHAIRPERSON:

o Must have ONE (1) year clean time. Person sharing/speaking MUST
have 90 days clean time off all drugs and drug replacement therapy and
be an NA speaker.
o Chairperson must read from scripted sheet.
o Chairperson is responsible for curtailing cross talking.
o Chairperson is responsible for asking individuals sharing to wrap it up after
their allotted 5 minutes.
o Chairperson to announce, If you have used within the last 24 hours,
please stay, but please refrain from sharing.
Chairperson must get the key to open the meeting from the Police Station in
Highland Mills.

ANNIVERSARIES:

First year celebrants to celebrate the last Tuesday of the month.

ALL celebrants MUST have hit clean date on or before celebration.
Members who wish to celebrate must let the group know and attend TWO
consecutive business meetings prior to celebrating. This is subject to group
conscience (e.g., if someone cannot attend Tuesdays business meeting due to
work or other obligation).
All First year cakes bought by group (max $25.00)
Celebrant with most time gets the meeting leader.
Celebrants decide on how many speakers they will have with consideration being
given for each celebrant.
Anniversary format: Coin Presentation, Celebrant, Speaker. (in this order).

BUSINESS MEETINGS:

Business meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of the month before Area.
Trusted servants are NOT to miss more than TWO consecutive business
meetings or they may be asked to step down from commitment.
After the literature order is completed and rent is paid, any extra funds will be
donated to Open Arms Area of Narcotics Anonymous.

CHURCH RULES AND ENFORCEMENT OF THESE RULES

Individuals must not smoke on the grounds. Smoking is across the street only.
Group members are responsible for ensuring that smoking is not done on
grounds.
