Advisory Field Trip

Electrical Training Center

On March 11th, my job shadow was located at the San Diego Electrical Training Center.

We rode on a bus to our location. When we got there, I noticed that the place was right next to

the KUSI building. That brought back memories to when my Madrigals choir performed on

television for KUSI. We entered the building for our job shadow, went upstairs, and entered a

room filled with desks and chairs. I listened and payed close attention to what they had to say to

us. After their presentation, we got separated into three groups. Group one and two did activities

while group 3 had a tour. We rotated so we all got a chance to do activities and tours. One

activity we did was putting wires into the correct place to light up a light bulb. For me, it was all

a complicated puzzle. Another activity we did was put wires in a very specific order to create a

cable. The wires were so small I lost patience in putting them together. After all the activities we

went back to the room and had some pizza. I noticed that the pizza had pepperoni and Brytanny

reminded me that it was Friday where we were not supposed to eat meat. It is a tradition for

Lent. After we ate we headed back to school where we were dismissed. Overall, I do not think

that job would be right for me.
