Objectives:
Knowing how the model will behave submitted to two forces that provide a torsion and to know
which study will be the appropriated for analyzing it correctly.

Results:
The initial model had some letters in the inferior face of the piece that later was simplified and we
leave the face flat.

The forces were placed at the external faces of the extractions at the inferior piece. It can be
observed that both forces create torsion in the clockwise direction.

The limitations of the static analysis are that at the moment of moving the end of the model
caused by the torsion supplied by both forces, the material stretch disproportionately. That is
caused because the lineal model doesnt accept the large displacements and that provoke errors
at the results. In the figure 1, you can observe that in gray is the original piece and it increased
exaggeratedly its form after the application of the forces.

So, we decided that the appropriated study will be the non-lineal study.

Fig. 1: Static study displacement results.

We can observe that the larger displacements are located, logically, at the end of the bottom
piece.

Fig. 2: Non-lineal study displacement results.

The greatest stresses are located around the tube that hold the bottom piece, and are distributed
in spiral shape. The union between the tube and the piece also had great stresses. Nevertheless,
the stresses arent big enough to exceed the yield point, so, even though the force is big it didnt
break the piece apart.

Conclusions:
When you use lineal study type you can determine if the model will behave appropriately or if it is
going to consider large displacements that cant be interpreted correctly. When these situations
occurred, we need to appeal to the non-lineal study, because in this type of study the large
displacements are allowed and it can determine the correct form in which the material behaves
and how the stresses are distributed.
