The piece that has been selected for this project was a part of a robot (as it's
mentioned before), which is a foot of a robotic leg. All this in order to apply a force to
it which puts pressure on the piece to analyze the deformation that it can have
depending on the material that was implemented, which in this case is cast steel.
In this case we are not going to use the connection tool since in this case we have a
complete figure and not an assembly.
In the figure it shows the fixed position below the figure with the vectors in green. It is
important to keep in mind that when we try to calculate and do a static analysis, the
figure must not move in order to see the torsion points or depending on it.
The image shows the face to which we are giving the vertical force and where it
carries out the load. In this Static Analysis is where we select to apply the external
load in this case in Newtons(N).
In this case, the red part is where a greater displacement of the object will be
obtained once the external load is applied.
As we can observe in the image, a force of 30N is applied to the piece and we can
notice that this piece is distorded. Having a yield point of 5000.
SAFETY FACTOR AND MATERIAL SELECTION
We have selected due to its properties since it is the most used in this type of
equipment. In this case is cast steel.
A factor of safety of 1.0 at a location means that the material at that location has
begun to fail. A factor of safety greater than 1.0 at a location means that the material
at that location is safe.
