CREATIVE LIFE FOUNDATION

2016 ANNUAL REPORT

LETTER FROM
THE CO-FOUNDER
As Creative Life Foundation responds to issues of poverty and migration through
building community and programs, we desire to make a lasting difference. We believe
that investing in relationship is transformative, and that love will catalyze the natural
and organic process of healing and growth for our friends living on the margins of
society. Im pleased by 2016's Annual Report because it reflects just that.
It reflects time time invested in relationships.

We invest in people because we know that it takes long-term commitment to bring real
transformation. Education can make a lasting difference in a childs life and their family;
evidence proves it. This year we doubled our scholarship program and are committed
to see this number continue to multiply in the coming years.

Bangkok is home to an increasing number of urban refugees, people who are fleeing
armed conflict and persecution in their home countries. This year our team visited
refugees and asylum seekers in their homes and at the Immigration Detention Center to
help prepare them for their futures with ESL classes and connections to resources. Our
Psychosocial Coordinator, Amy Hupe, supported and provided resources to both
refugees and victims of human trafficking.

We continue to be inspired by local leaders. Mina's business is attracting new

customers, finding new wholesale partners and offering part-time work to women.
Naam Fon, Phalang Jai's project leader, began offering scholarships at the request of
local leaders in Chiang Mai Province. Last year we hired May, a full-time teacher in the
classroom. She is helping our students reach their education goals while earning her
own degree at university. Khun Plaa, a Thai pastor we partner with for scholarships and
English classes, became our local board chair. We are grateful for her leadership.

We accomplished and grew a lot last fiscal year, and its our hope that this Annual
Report can give you a glimpse of how we spent our time and resources. These numbers
-- the classroom hours, the jars of pesto, the scholarship dollars -- represent opportunity
for people we know and love and see most days. Thank you for helping us to stay
committed to them and to our work. We cant do this without you. Please know that
your support and generosity are both inspiring and encouraging. We hope you enjoy
a look at our 2016!

As a Thai person, I knew only that foundations were about taxes and donations. When I learned
about CLF, I looked at the website and what they do is very clear. They help all people. I like to
get involved and to see for myself, and I know that they do good work.

-JJ, CLF Donor

I support a Phalang Jai Scholarship because I've been there, I've witnessed the passion for learn-
ing and the pure, God-given talents in these children - natural born leaders, scholars, musicians,
caregivers, pastors, teachers, etc. you name it. I like to think I'm contributing to the discovery of a
wealth of untapped potential.

- Miranda, Phalang Jai scholarship supporter

What would Bangkok do without Amy bringing some peace and stillness and contemplative
freedom in peoples chaotic lives?

- SOUL Workshop participant

"I've worked in this community for seven years. I have seen so many kids not finish high school
because it's hard and they don't have the money. It breaks my heart! I just want these kids to learn
and get a good job. This week the first student in this ministry finished university! We are so happy!
She worked at her job and learned in university classes at the same time. We had her come speak to
the other students that even though it's hard work they can do it too. I hope the other students will
be encouraged by her example!"

-Khun Plaa, CLF Board Chair
