CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WALKER MATH TEAM

The Walker math team won FIRST PLACE AT THE CCSD MATH COMPETITION! We are very proud of our
third, fourth and fifth grade students for their outstanding performance. Walker will be participating in the
State of Nevada Math Competition in April.

TONIGHT: Family Math & Science Night

The Math and Science Night is starting at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, Thursday, March 23rd. J. Marlan
Walker teachers for grades K-5 will be leading grade appropriate activities in different classrooms. The
entire family will be able to experience math and science interactively. We look forward to seeing you!

PTA TALENT SHOW

PTA is hosting "Walker's Got Talent" Talent show tomorrow, Friday, March 24, 2017. Come cheer on our
own talent from comedians, instrumentalists, great vocalists and a host of other talents. Doors open at
4:30 pm and show starts at 5:00 pm. If you don't have time for dinner, don't worry, we will have
concessions and a pizza truck available for purchase (cash only). Entry is free. We hope to see you there.

Nominations for 2017-2018 PTA Board: Nominations were due today. If you were nominated to be on next year's
board, the Nominating Committee will contact regarding the next steps.

June- TBD: Primary grades and 5th grade end of year event

A big thank you to all of the parents who supported the math competition. You ROCK!
Big Accolades to Mr. Bell, Mrs. Lord, Mrs. Meltzer, Mrs. Needham and Mrs. Lewis for their support
of the math competition. We appreciate these teachers for preparing our amazing students for this
worthwhile event.
Hooray for the PTA Talent Show committee for organizing an event for our students to showcase
their talents.

REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is quickly approaching as the new school year starts on
August 14, 2017. Parents please make sure you are registered in Infinite Campus. You should have
a log-in and password. If you have not yet created your log-in and password, come into the office
at Walker and see Mrs. Hodge. She will provide you with instructions of how to set up your
account. If you have a log-in, but have forgotten the password, come into the schools office with
your identification so that new password can be set-up. Please refer to the attached flyer.
