As we look forward to enjoying Thanksgiving, we wish to express our

gratitude to our Walker community. We are truly thankful for our staff
that cares about our students well-being, and come prepared each day to
ensure learning is taking place. We are thankful for our Walker students who show kindness toward one
another, and come prepared to learn each day. We are thankful to parents who advocate for their childs
education and safety, and who serve enthusiastically as volunteers. Our hearts are full of gratitude for
our Walker Community.
PARENT SURVEY
Information on the annual districtwide survey for parents will be sent home on Monday, November 14th.
According to CCSD, the purpose of the survey is to provide information regarding progress toward
District strategies and to be in compliance it CCSD School Board policies.
ANGEL TREE
The information for the 2016 Angel Tree can be found in your childs Thursday Folder. We appreciate
your support of this worthy cause. The deadline is December 9, 2016.
HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE
Under the direction of our counselor, Ms. Felcyn, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for
families in need at Gordon McCaw Elementary School. Please refer to the red flyer in the Thursday
Folder.

PTA NEWS
PTA thanks everyone who submitted a nomination form for the school organizational team (SOT).
Voting for the SOT parent members will take place on November 17, 2016, from
7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the front office.
The nomination results will be announced at the PTA General Membership Meeting on
November 17, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the library.
Thank you for all of your support to the children and to PTA as well.
PTA wishes you a fun and safe 3-day weekend.
