At the very beginning of the month, AMA Ferris brought Carlvin Dorvilier, an - Jim Rohn
advertising graduate, to campus. Students from AMA, AdGroup, MIMA and more
organizations in the COB came to listen in. Carlvin shared his touching story of
growing up and overcoming the obstacles life had presented him. He also talked
about how getting out of your comfort zone is the best thing you can do. He
encouraged students to keep persisting even when times get hard and to have
no limits when it comes to dreaming and achieving. Its awesome that he took
time out of his busy work schedule at Tumblr to give back to Ferris students. Contact Us

Professional Development
Lets Strategize
On the first of the month, Doctor Green and Doctor Brotherton held a strategy
workshop for the members of AMA Ferris. The members who attended got a run
down on the basics of marketing strategy and what should be covered in a
marketing strategy competition. The last half of the workshop, the students took
their knowledge from classes and what they had learned that evening and put
them to the test in a small competition. The workshop was a great introduction for
the strategy competition that was held the following week.

Let The Strategizing Continue

The following Wednesday, teams of one or two met in the business building to
compete in our intra-member strategy competition. After thirty minutes of
reviewing the case they were given and coming up with a plan to market it, the
teams had seven minutes to present to the judges. The winner of the intra- Brutus is committed to saving lives

Tournament
The best way to fundraise is to make it fun. Even with The Gate, the bowling alley
in Big Rapids, being moved back across town, AMA Ferris continued to plan and
hold their spring College of Business Bowling Tournament. Members of the
American Marketing Association, faculty, and other student organizations filled up
the original bowling alley. There was no surprise that the team from The Gate beat
Gypsy Nickel all other teams by a landslide, but it still a good time with friends and colleagues.
Karaoke Our VP of Fundraising Trevor Holowaty and the project manager Syerra Wilcox
did an excellent job of recruit teams and running the tournament.
After submitting the Annual
Report, AMA Ferris took
some time to have some fun.
