Junior Jeff Cyr, running for Vice President
1. I’ve been in the SGA for a year and a half and I have a cumulative three years
of experience with clubs. I am the president of the Political Science Association,
the class of 2011 Student Judiciary Review Board Justice, and a Member of the
CAS Committee.
2. One goal I’d like to accomplish is working with new clubs on campus on get-
ting them a budget for their club, and the current clubs on campus receive an
increase in their budgets.
3. I have made it my goal to independently reach out to new organizations, per-
sonally meet with students and discusse their concerns. Merely adding them
on Facebook and paying them lip service is insulting and ineffectual. I am all
about accountability. As an organization we need to be answerable to the Suf-
folk community, not just our own distorted egos.
4. The VP of SGA has a number of responsibilities includingthe acceptance and
inclusion of new clubs and working with the rest of the E-board. My job as VP
is to “get the ball rolling” for these new organizations. I want to make the pro-
cess as smooth and easygoing as possible.
Freshman Martha Alvarado, running for Vice President Freshman Brad Miggalaci, running for Secretary
1. I'm a one-year senator and the chair of the committee to extend library hours.
I had four years on my high school SGA, and was president of student body my
senior year.
2. I would like to extend the library hours.
3. I plan on Talking to students one on one and seeing what problems they have
and focus on not just addressing clubs and e-boards. Students have a hard time
getting involved in clubs. I will be here for the students, not the admin. or the
clubs.
4. I have to take role at the meetings, chair of the judicial review board, consti-
tutions for clubs, chairs elections for other clubs' e-boards. The Vice President
serves the role as the disciplinarian for the senators.
Junior Nick DiZoglio, running for Vice President
1. I am currently the Vice President. I’ve worked with clubs, literally as a friend
and mentor and taken my time as VP to work with students one on one and cre-
ate events. I’ve worked with Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) hand
and hand to create a faster process for new clubs to go through the process for
SGA.
2. One goal I’d like to accomplish is working with new clubs on campus on get-
ting them a budget for their club, and the current clubs on campus receive an
increase in their budgets.
3. I want to keep the unity and the great team work and continue planning
events working with the SGA. To get the SGA involved, you need a team to
back you up with that team—the e-board is that team. With that said that team
of captains brings the other guys to bat. .
4. I want to push [senators] to do office hours and event hours. I also want to
push community service, and involvement. You need to get involved, as a mem-
ber of SGA or as a student.

Junior Mitch Vieira, running for President
1. I have a proven track record of leadership as treasurer of the SGA, and chair
of the finance committee.
2. The SGA needs to work much harder to reach out to those students that
aren’t involved in a club or organization. We need to Reach out and talk and
meet with students that are here for just school, sometimes we miss that and it’s
important that we reach out and meet with those students that aren’t always on
the 4th floor.
3. We need to take a look ourselves before others come in; our strengths and
weaknesses and work on practicing more outreach. by going into the dorms, or
coffee hour, showing up at events.
4. The President of SGA is a person who chairs of all the senate meetings,and e-
board meetings and is the primary advocate between student body and admin-
istration. Working on behalf of the students. Representation within the Unvi,
handle everyday operations within SGA. Looking also at the big picture, vision
and mission of SGA.
Junior Ed Plamowski, running for Treasurer
1. For the past year I've been on the SGA Finance committee, and the treasure of
two on campus clubs; the Political Science Association, and college republicans.
2. The Biggest thing for next year is for clubs to maintain the budgets they cur-
rently have. There's a slight drop in enrollment, so funds might not be as high.
We need to make sure we can we can do the same stuff we’ve been doing even
though money has been tight.
3. I want to get the treasurers of clubs together for monthly meetings. A lot of
people don’t view the sga favorably, so we should co-sponsor events and do
more outreach to all types of clubs on campus. The SGA tends to stick into its
own shell too much.
4. The chief thing is to be the chair of the finance committee, set the agenda for
the meetings, and make sure clubs have their budgets.
1. I was the secretary of my High school class for 4 years. I was the president of
three other organizations in high school, so leadership positions are not new to
me.
2. I want to have SGA known to the student body and I want the students to
know what SGA is, what we do, and how we can help them.
3. There should be a publication or a newsletter that SGA and e-board puts to-
gether, and distributes So people know what is being worked on, and reminded
SGA is there for them.
4. I would have to take minutes and notes for every meeting and would be re-
sponsible for memos and communication within the university administration.
Junior Bianca Kreiling, Running for Secretary
1. I’m involved in the SGA and I try to attend all events and talk to different
clubs. I spent two years on the Obama campaign as an intern organizing and
managing an office during primaries. I have the skills set to organize an office.
2. I want to increase visibility through new media like facebook, twitter, and SU
and have senators during office hours go out and talk to people, and have them
get outside their comfort zone
3. I want to make sure senators are responsible for the office hour policy and go
to more events..
4. I’ll be responsible for communication, PR, the office hour policy, the daily
operation of the SGA office, maintaining meetings, and making minutes online.
