Are False beliefs always

best avoided or
eliminated?
Beliefs are opinions which we as humans form about the world and which
we accept to be true. If we do not accept something to be true then we
would not call it a belief. Our opinions are not set in stone and with new
experiences they change what we believe. I strongly believe it is in human
nature to avoid false beliefs.
It would also be myopic of me to think that false beliefs do not exist. In my
attempt to understand how people formulate their views, I have come to
understand that our opinions are shaped by our experiences. Everything
we know and accept to be true about anything comes from a trusted
source. People whom share knowledge on certain topics have some sort of
power over those they share the knowledge to. If someone introduces you
to a new concept, with clear elaborate reasoning you are likely to accept
it. Provided you respect and willing to give your trust to the storyteller.
Politicians throughout the world have used what is called propaganda to
promote their own agendum. People who support politicians believe their
views are correct, but this does not make them true. In the past people
believed the world was flat, due to the lack of new information, this was
accepted as true until proved otherwise. Given accurate information I do
not think anyone would wittingly continue to believe their false beliefs. In
my opinion false beliefs exist purely on the basis of ignorance.
