PART 5: In a Bit of a Pickle

Yikes, scholar! NightChep exclaimed. They had just

been tricked into bringing the package back to East, and
now both of them were in a cage. D-Perry was heading to
the school now to take it back for himself, and he was
going to do whatever it takes. NightChep and
MorningChep couldnt let this happen, so they had to get
out of the cage as fast as possible.
Cheppy can save us! MorningChep declared.
NightChep just looked at MorningChep for a second, then
looked at the floor.
No, were trying to save Cheppy, remember!
NightChep corrected. MorningChep realized this and then
sunk to the floor, depressed.
Oh my scholas, he said. Were in a huge pickle
right now. What do we do?
But just then, a ChepMinion was entering the area.
There was definitely noise inside of the ceiling and walls
around them, so it had to have been an ally.
Cheppy, is that you, schola? MorningChep asked.
He then remembered Cheppy was stolen by D-Perry.
Nevermind. That you, ChickenChep? There was
complete silence in the darkness of the ceiling for several
seconds.
ChickenChep is unfortunately no longer with us,
NightChep reminded MorningChep. You have some kind
of amnesia or somethin? Youre forgettin everything,
schola! They both stopped talking and tried to listen in
to whatever was coming closer. Perhaps it would be
something to help them.
Ten more seconds passed and finally the creature
came into the light.

In a shocking turn of events, UnicornChep has

revealed himself from the darkness! He steps into the
shadows majestically, and at first the Cheps are
completely speechless. After all, UnicornChep only graces
his appearance once in a blue moon, which is quite
infrequent if the Cheps do say so themselves.
Ay yo, UnicornChep. Give a little hand here, pal?
NightChep requested. UnicornChep just stared at our
Chep heroes, and then started walking around the cage.
It wasnt definite, but it seemed like UnicornChep was just
having a great time.
Come on, schola! He doesnt have hands, he cant
give us a hand! MorningChep yelled. Be nicer next
time! NightChep frowned but still stared at UnicornChep,
who wouldnt stop circling the cage. UnicornChep is
known to have many powers, so perhaps he could use
one of those magical traits and free the Cheps.
You can do it! You just have to belieeveee!
NightChep exclaimed. UnicornChep looked at NightChep,
and then fell face down on the ground.

This is hopeless, schola, MorningChep said. It

seemed to be the consensus here that the Cheps would
be stuck forever in this cage, unable to move forward in
their lives and unable to defeat D-Perry once and for all.
Everything seemed like it would go downhill, but then
UnicornChep got up. He looked around. Then he fell down
again.

It seemed it would be an endless cycle until the end

of their days.
Oh my scholar, if we die in here, then how will I get more
chocolate milk?! NightChep asked. He stared up above.
Lord Scholar, please give me chocolate milk in heaven. I
promise to participate in great acts of kindness if you do.
Thank you, scholar.
NOOOOO! MorningChep yelled. Were gettin out
of here! I need to see new Wiggles episodes. Come on,
lets save the school!
Suddenly, when all hope was lost, UnicornChep got
up. He didnt fall down again. He began to glow even
more yellow as the room lit up with yellow patterns and
bright lights. There was a white flash that blinded our
Chep heroes for an instant, but when their vision came
back, they realized something was missing. The cage had
completely vanished from existence. It seemed that
UnicornChep was indeed magical, as he faded away right
after his magical appearance.
 Thank you scholar Unicorn for helping us,
NightChep said. We hope to see you again soon. You are
great! He pumped his fists.
But there was no time to waste. Dr. Perry was
heading into the school, ready to take back his spot as
principal of Cherry Hill East. The students did not know of
his evil plans as principal, and with 2,000 students he can
control, things would get pretty dangerous.
NightChep and MorningChep began running through
the walls and ceilings, to the front entrance, trying to find
D-Perry and stop him.

COME ON, SCHOLA! FOLLOW ME! NightChep yelled.

MorningChep did not understand why that was said, as
there was no other direction they couldve gone. He
ignored the comment and instead thought about what he
would eat later that day.
I could really use some Pringles and Onions. Mix that
with some tomato sauce and Soup, schola, thats my
meal tonight, he thought. But now was not the time for
distractions. D-Perry was near, and the Cheps could sense
it. He was close, and he was about to take back the
school.
 And thats when the front door opened.

Dr. Perry had made it inside the school. MorningChep

and NightChep did not see this at first because of their
presence inside the East walls, although they sensed it.
As they got closer to the entrance of the school, they
sniffed the walls and could definitely smell Dr. Perry on
the other side. SpringChep boinged right in and made
some noise, trying to get in on the fun.
Shhh, not now, Springy! MorningChep said, putting
a finger to shush SpringChep. He kept bouncing, but then
fell down and couldnt get up. MorningChep and
NightChep continued through the walls, this time walking
and trying to get a better idea on where D-Perry would
be.
Whats his plan? NightChep asked. Hows he
gonna take back the school? Does he have weapons,
schola?
Hes an evil scientist. He could be planning
anything! MorningChep replied. They both knew that
danger was afloat, and the lives of everyone at school
were in danger.
Yo schola, MorningChep whispered. You wanna
ditch this place and go save Cheppy?
NightChep thought about it for a few seconds, and
then nodded. They decided that they could deal with D-
Perry on the way back. The only thing to do right now was
sneak past the entrance without getting any suspicious
looks by D-Perry or anyone else.
123 schola! NightChep yelled. They bursted
through the wall and ran into a hallway near the East
entrance. It was in close sight, and everything was going
okay. They would run out the doors, find wherever Dr.
Perry stored Cheppy, and save the day. It would all turn
out okay in the end, at least thats what our Chep heroes
were thinking as they dashed towards the door.
But those visions of happiness disappeared when
they heard a voice that was all too familiar.

Stop.
 The gun was pointed directly at the Cheps. The
entrance was behind Dr. Perry, and there was no way to
get past him now.
I dont know how you guys got out of the cage, he
said, alternating the aim of the gun between each Chep.
But Im not letting you mess with my plans. Im taking
back this school whether you like it or not. MorningChep
and NightChep looked at each other, then at D-Perry.
Then they looked at each other again, and smiled.
WHATS SO FUNNY? D-Perry yelled.
Oh, nothin, said NightChep. Its just that when you
walked in the building, you forgot that we had an army of
our own.
Nothing happened for a few seconds.
AHEM. chepminions, MorningChep said.
D-Perry looked around for their army. Nothing
came.
Uh, schola, they were supposed to be here by
now NightChep declared. It seemed they could not
escape the trouble.
But then, lots of sound effects came into view and
ChepMinions came out from the floorboards, the ceiling,
and the hallways. SpringChep boinged on in there.
BowtieChep held a mirror to gaze at its fantastic looks.
RoboChep stomped right in there.
Unfortunately, the ChepMinions clumsiness led to
some misunderstandings. Some of the ChepMinions were
searching for food left from student scholars from the day.
Other ChepMinions went past the scene of danger and
just bounced around the halls. In the end, the only people
left were MorningChep, NightChep, and D-Perry.
Its funny you think you can defeat me, D-Perry
said with an evil smile. Now get out of my way. You
arent messing up my plans!
NightChep and MorningChep wouldnt move. They
needed to save Cheppy, and something had to be done
quick. Both of them looked at each other, and knew
exactly what would happen next. They sprung into action,
getting ready to kick and punch and defeat the evil Dr.
Perry.
Unfortunately, D-Perry had lightning fast reflexes and
pulled the trigger.
 The bullet pierced through NightCheps head,
resulting in immediate death.
