Summary:

These past two weeks of student teaching have been very beneficial. Tuesday

the 17th I began to takeover routines and procedures. This means I run morning

routines, walk students to lunch/break/specials, and run end of the day routines.

When I first began taking over these procedures I felt a little lost because I was still

learning the expectations of the classroom. However, this past week I have felt

much more comfortable with my role and my class. Some takeaways that I have had

since working on routines and procedures are

1. Do not yell- Chaos invites chaos

2. Do not project your voice over talking- Wait for all students to listen.

3. Talk at a normal volume so that students have to listen and are unable to talk

over you

4. Talk at a good pace (not too fast) so that students understand you

5. Model what you want students to do before asking them to do it

6. Reward students who are doing what you asked

7. Be consistent
