Earth was warm.

sheets convered much of North American Europe and Asia. Over thousands
of years, the ice melted
Many plants and animals disappeared. Others took their place. Even in the
last 500 yeras, yhe climate has changed gratly. There have been cold times
and warm times
A Little Ice Age started in the fifteenth century in Europe. It lasted several
hundred years

There is more rain in the north and less in the south. In Russia, the ground in
Siberia is melting. Vast reas that have been frozan for tens of thousands of

ice has disapeared in the past 100 years
Why are scientists concerned today? In history, climate changes occurred
over thousands of years. However, the eight warmest years on record have
all happened since 1998, with the warmest in 2005. That means the Earths
is warming very quickly, and you do not have to be a scientist to know that.
