Title of Show: Bach at Leipzig

Your Role or Position: Johann Christoph Graupner
Describe the process you used to prepare for this role or position.
At first, I was slightly nervous to play this role. The large monologues that I was required to prepare in such
amount of time was quite daunting, but I was also able to prove to myself that I could do that. I spent many hours
a day working on lines and character work.

Articulate both the ease and difficulty you experienced during the process.
The line work was basically the only thing I had a hard time with. The cast gelled very well, which I
think made for a stronger performance as opposed to if we werent all close.

Describe the successful aspects of your work and why these were successful.
I think that my character work on an individual level was pretty concise. I also felt connected to my
physicality, which is something that I know I have had a harder time with in the past.

Describe the less successful aspects of your work and why they were less.
I think that my connections with the other characters couldve been stronger. This couldve been due to the time
crunch, but I wouldve liked to build stronger relationships with the other characters, whether they be positive or
negative ones.

Please provide any additional observations regarding this production below.

I thought that this was a great first collegiate production, and I am glad that I was able to work on it!

Stefan: I was very glad to meet you through the work on this, your first production with us. You and the
other freshmen in the cast blended effectively and well with the full cast while, at the same time,
creating effectively distinctive characterizations of your own individually. I agree that your physical
work on the character was well integrated, motivated, and contributed to our understanding of Herr
Graupner, his goals, obstacles and actions. An important part of that, I think, was your physical work on
the fight scene and your commitment to the fight training. Your positive attitude toward the work and to
the collaboration was an important contribution to the success of the production.
