It`s all about interviews, baby :)

Interview is all about intern and his suitability for the project.
1) Interview preparation
Write to the person, that you got his/her application and invite for skype interview.
Mention 3-4 options for possible interview for him/her to choose.
Don't expect person to reply now, so MAXIMUM 2 options can be for tomorrow
(morn + evening), others need to be a bit later - for person to check message and to
agree on time and date.
Pay attention to time difference. In Moldova GMT +2. Check country of person's
living and try not to appoint interviews at midnight for the EP.
Write your skype in the very beginning and request person to add you to avoid any
misscomunication later on.

Hi [name],

Thanks for your application to our project. We were impressed by your background and
would like to invite you to interview via Skype to tell you a little more about the project and
get to know you better. Please let me know which of the following times work for you, and I
can send over a confirmation and details:

-[Day, Time 1]
-[Day, Time 2]
-[Day, Time 3]

Looking forward to hearing from you,

[Your name]

2) Before interview:
Check EP form (profile in EXPA) and CV of the person.
Check questions for interview for you not to be worry and to focus on answers of
the person, not on the which is the next question? and to look quite professionaly
I mean, without reading questions from the paper =P
Check all info about the project, what intern is going to do there, what kind of
conditions we can provide (accommodation, reception, development, etc) - for
person to have right expecations and to be ready from the very beginning.
You need to know, whom are you searching for (Profile of the person minimum
requirements, expectations, which skills, which countries, which languages to know,
etc). Having this profile you need to prepare questions, how to check, if the person
is suitable for this profile.

Prepare question about person's expectations, motivation.

Tip 1. Be online 10 min before interview, 5 min before write, smth like "hello, how are you?
we are starting in 5 min"
Tip 2. Start on time
Tip 3. Be ready, that person can be offline, have issues with internet, etc - don't waste your
precious time, have stuff to do prepared (book near by to read while waiting, facebook
open to post more promo messages, etc).

3) Applicant preparation before the interview

Send relevant data about the project (for EP not to waste your time and not ask
useless or obvious questions)
Remind one day before about interview agreed (with exact time), for him/her to
have webcamera ready, earphones prepared, etc. (for you to be sure, that you have
interview)
If you want some specific task to be done during interview (case study or song to
sing) - you can ask about that in advance.

4) Start interview:
You need to make induction to the person. You can start the interview from such a text in
skype:
Hello, Im Mihai, I am from AIESEC Chisinau. Welcome to our todays interview for project
in Moldova about ... Duration of the interview is around 1 hour top, for sure, it depends on
the duration of your answers.

5) During interview:
1. Camera! You need to see the person with whom you will work around 2 months. If there
are webcam issue alter on extra interview to check the person. There are pretty much
cheating stories.
2. Listen attentively about WHAT and HOW the person is saying. Mimics, gestures,
Engslih level, accent, etc

6) Questions list:
a) Getting to know each other: an awesome way to start interview.

Could you introduce yourself?

It`s a nicece question, it can be in different variations: talk about yourself 1 minute,
what are 5 main facts which I need to know about you, etc.
Have you ever participated to an interview before?
How do you feel?
It`s a specific question, it`s better to use how are you? or how do you do?, cause
on how do you feel you will not hear scary or nervous, they are not going to
admit that, in the same time you just need a question for them to answer fine
and not to go into details.
b) About the project:

Why did you apply for this project?

You can also ask: Which skills do you want to develop, what impact to bring, which
places to visit. Sometimes you need to support person with more specific questions
for him/her to find relevant answer.
c) EP Experience:

What was the most crazy thing that you did in your life?
If the person had already voluntary XP, you can ask: Describe the perfect job
description youre aiming for? What qualities / skills do you have that you can add to
this internship?
How do you feel with kids? How will you communicate with children? (especially, if
they dont know English). Also, check CV. If not there ask about younger brothers,
kids, whatsever. Also, this question is specially for GCDP. Dont ask it during GIP
for this you need to prepare another list of questions, more professional ones.

d) Behavioral questions

Give an example when you miss a deadline! What were the circumstances and how
you communicated about it to others?
Tell me about a situation where you have made a mistake and how have you dealt
with the situation. What did you learn from your mistake?
What kind of people you can hardly get along with? Why? What would you do in
order to make the situation easier?
Describe a situation where you have been in an uncomfortable social environment.
What did you do and how did you react?
What do you do in you free time?
Describe you as a teamplayer.
Imagine that you have to work in an international team, where you dont know each
other, and countries are presented from 3 different continents. What kind of
problems or misunderstandings can come up? How do you see the role in
managing these situations?
Imagine that you are working in a team regarding to a school project. 1 day before
the deadline you realize by accident one of your teammate did not succeed his/her
part of the work which endangers the success of your job as well. What would you
do?
Is it ok for you to share a room with a trainee from another country? Which
problems you can have with them? How will you decide?
Which kind of problems you think that you can have in Moldova? How will you
decide them?
Describe the process you went through in trying to convince someone of your
opinions!
e) Additionally:

Also you can ask about that things which were confused you in EPs CV or EP form

If you need any VISA documents, we will have to send them through DHL (quick
post sending service), but you will have to pay for it depending on how far your
country is from our, are you okay with that?
Clarify Are you available to come for DATES of the project ? here you need to
know the date, when you latest expect intern and which is the earlier you can host
him/her
Do you have a passport, not an identity card, since you are not allowed to cross our
borders without it?
Do you have any questions ? Its supposed to be super last question. Ask, do they
have questions about Moldova, Chisinau, project? Some of interns are so cute
they are writing them down! ^_^ living conditions, food, internet, laptop to take, etc

To ask other questions is ok. Its even needed. You can ask whatever, even what are you
going to do if huge octopus is toothbrushing in your bed?.

7) End of the interview:

Thank you for your time. It was a pleasure for me to talk to you. We will provide
you results within 2 days via __________ (here specify the channel expa, mail,
facebook). Next step will be interview with kindregarten etc

8) After the interview:
