Kansai Collaborative Arts
123 Business Rd. 123 Business City New York 54321
I am writing to you to express interest in the graphic design position as advertised on Indeed.com.
As a recent graduate with experience in 3-D animation software and the Adobe suite of software, I
believe I am a strong candidate for a position at Kansai Collaborative Arts.
During my time at the University of Northern State, I was awarded the top prize in the student
design competition for my version of an app that would allow students to learn Japanese characters
on their own time.
In addition to graduating with a 3.75 GPA, I spent a semester at a university in Japan, and I have
strong conversational skills in the Japanese language. I believe this would be an asset, as I know
your studio does a lot of collaborations with major design studios in Japan.
Although I am a recent college graduate, my maturity, artistic skills, ability to work with others, and
knowledge of the Japanese language and culture will make me an asset for your studio.
I believe my experiences and track record make me an excellent fit for this opportunity. I have
enclosed my resume for your consideration. Please feel free to contact me via phone or email at a
time of your convenience to discuss my background as well as the requirements for the role.
Sincerely,
Lucy Applicant

JOB INTERVIEW
A job interview is a conversation which occurs between a potential employer and a job
applicant. During the job interview, the employer has the opportunity to appraise the
applicant’s qualifications, appearance and general fitness for the job opening. In parallel
the applicant tries to learn more about the position, to appraise the employer and to find
out if your needs and interests will be met. Think of the the interview as a conversation
between two people where each person is trying to learn more about the other. The
interview process is a two-way street. You are travelling toward a goal-the right job and
the employer is travelling toward a goal-the right hire.
As a general rule, a job interview is an important part of the process of applying a job,
and it may range in formality from a casual information to a series of serious
discussions with an assortment of people working within the company.
If a job applicant manages to land a job interview, it indicates that the employer has at
least some interest. Typically, an applicant responds to an advertised job opening,
providing a resume and other requested materials. The employer or a representative
reviews all receive applications and decides who should be invited back for an
interview. In some cases, a preliminary interview may be held on the phone to save
resources and time for both parties.
The things that must be taken on job interview are:
• The interview letter, with the name(s) of the interviewer(s) and their adress and
phone number.
• A map of how to get there.
• A copy of Curriculum Vitae (CV) and application letter.
