In our university there are canals around the campus. As we can see that in the
water is full of trashes and the color is getting dark which can affect to smelling and also
to ecology. Even there are a lot of animals in the campus but we do not know when they
are going to be lost. Moreover, working with chemical in laboratories also cause water
pollution and there many things in the campus that harm to the water. So, we will do the
project focusing on these things.

We want to fix the problems so we did some research about it. Now, there are
many issues found and some students in the university also notice about the problem.

Problems:
Excrement of aquatic animals cause green color of water
Trashes from people affect to smell of water and harm to animals
living in the canals
Chemical substances such as radioactivity released into the water
harm to the animals
Infectious wastes and some chemical products from studying in
laboratory released into the water

Some professors and students in the campus also have done some project
about these problems.

Exterminate some chemical stuffs roughly

-Separation of wastes
-Neutralization the solution containing sludge and
slurry
-Precipitation
Exterminate solid wastes
-Incineration by using 760 celcius temperature
-Autoclave with 132 celcius temperature for 30-60min
Others
Background information: How to solve water pollution

These are some examples from researching about the ways to solve water
pollution issue.

Water turbine
Salt to decrease the amount of plankton in the water that make water turned
green
Hire someone to scoop up all wastes from animal under water
Measure the amount of PH
Make a campaign to make everyone in campus know that water is important in
our life
Make a competition for college students to solve the water pollution
Put on some cctvs
Measure the amount of ammonia in the water
Displace all birds because they pooped
Make a little wall separate between land and water
Activated sludge: AS Process

Objective
We chose to create the activated sludge in Mahidol University for solving the
problem about chemical released from laboratories in the campus.
Activated Sludge

We will create 5 activated sludges around the campus by focusing on canals

around the areas of laboratories or any buildings that often release chemical. We
install the pipes to pump water out of the canal and transport to activated sludges.
Then, the activated sludges will release clean water back to the canal by
transporting along another pipe.

Activated sludges will be installed in different area. First activated sludge will
be put under the canal near the Faculty of Medical Technology building. Second one
will be put near the Faculty of physical Therapy building. Third one will be put near
the Biotechnology Research and Development Center building. Forth one will be put
near the Faculty of Science 1-2 and the last one will be put near the Faculty
Engineering building 3.
