Chose a math activity and then plan how you will fit the activity over the 5 stages of
inquiry

THE 5 STAGES OF INQUIRY

[Classifying]
-I will bring material that related to my lesson.
-Asking them general question about the material to refresh
their minds.
-I can use mystre box to let them curiosit about the lesson.
ENGAGE

-Ask them questions that related to the topic.

-Before I start the lesson I will let them predict.
-I can let them find the relations between those materials like
finding some item in the class.
EXPLORE - Also I can give them activity that allow them to guess what
the lesson will be.

-After they answer my questions I will ask them why and what
and when so they explain for me why they choose those answers
(Justifications).
- I will compare their answers.
EXPLAIN - I will let them give my definitions with their own word.

-When they didnt understand or exactly guess what is the lesson

about I can explain more for them by giving them real exampls.
- I will add more informations on students answers so it will be
ELABORATE/EXTEND clear for the rest.
-I will use evidence and examples.

-I will ask them open-ended questions.

-I will test them by doing a worksheet.
-I can do activities and during that I will observe them.
EVALUATE - Evaluate their previous knowledge.
